Sable Ranch Bush Lodge

Located just 1.5 hours away from Johannesburg or less from Pretoria, Sable Ranch Bush Lodge is situated 30 km north of Brits in North West Province.

Accommodation is offered in 8 identical, tastefully decorated rooms that fit your comfort and needs. Each room has a queen-size bed with percale linen and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Amenities are available for your personal use. The rooms have air-conditioning and Wi-Fi as well as a bar fridge with still and sparkling water provided on your arrival. Each room leads out to the pool area, conveniently close to the boma and dining facilities.

Sable Ranch Bush Lodge pays special attention to our cuisine and guest experience. Two meals are included in your stay as well as a few surprises in between. Starting from an early morning coffee and rusk before game drive to coming back and enjoying a variety at the continental breakfast table and ordering off our hot breakfast menu.

Then later on in the day, around 13:00 it is time to come in for some lunch, you will choose off a menu and order to your preference at additional Cost at our Restaurant. Soon after that around 16:30 you will go on a game drive and enjoy the tranquil bushveld,

During your sundowner stop you will enjoy your favorite beverage accompanied with some snacks overlooking the bushveld as the sun goes down. Later on in the evening once you have returned back to the lodge. Dinner will be served, our qualified Chef will put his Culinary Skills to the test and create a delicious meal to the bush Lodges standards. We are extremely flexible with allergies and dietary requirements and will cater for your every single need.

You’ll be spoilt for choice with plenty of fun activities; take a guided game drive with snacks and drinks, go on walking trails or simply relax by the pool with a delicious cocktail in hand! And to top it off, there’s also a bar, dartboard and pool table for your entertainment. It is a great option for corporate conferences and team-building activities.

In 1972, the owners realised that poaching and hunting had utterly decimated the wildlife in Africa and actively started buying up more farmland to create a haven for all wildlife, to breed antelope for the game farm market, and to provide a place where tourism could thrive and contribute to the eco development of the region.

Sable Ranch Bush Lodge was formed in 1983, which is situated in the North West Province of the Republic of South Africa. Sable Ranch was registered in 1991 as a Natural Proclaimed Heritage Site with the SA Natural Heritage program of 1920. It was a declaration that recognised the dramatic improvement to the fauna and flora of the region as a direct result of Mr. Keeley’s intervention. Since 1989, this has been supported by the pro-active breeding of rare species like Sable Antelope, which consist of Zimbabwe, Tanzanian and West Zambian gene pools, Roan Antelope, and disease free East African Buffalo.

The farm covers about 4500-hectares and is situated approximately 30 km north of Brits in the Veekraal area. The Ranch consists of broken granite outcrops and Magalies bushveld woodland with red bushwillow as the dominant species. It is very picturesque and a haven for predator species such as leopards.
