Glen Eden Farm is a small holding of 50 hectares 14km outside of the historic town of Montagu. There are 5 luxury cottages & 2 glamping sites (glamorous camping). All cottages have private gardens with dining furniture, braai, & splash pool, along with everything you will need for a self-catering break. The glamping site is our most unique accommodation experience yet, we have 2 glamping pods each have with a hand-made Gypsy wagon, a tepee tent and a private pod with a bathroom and kitchen, the site also has a braai, fire pit & hot tub. Both groups and pets are welcome.
All cottages have fully-equipped kitchens. The glamping site have a 2-plate gas hob, kettle and a fridge/freezer *All linen and towels are provided. BBQ/picnic area, a children’s play area, parking, outdoor pool and Wi-Fi are available. There is a dam on the farm which has fish; bass and tilapia, you are welcome to fish, and there is a picnic bench to relax on, we can also arrange fishing on the neighbouring farm. There are a number of small walks around the farm to enjoy and a touch farm with lots of hand-reared animals. You are allowed to see the animals at any time and we can arrange a feeding session.
Noted as the halfway stop between Cape Town and Oudtshoorn on the popular Route 62, which is regarded as South Africa’s version of America’s renowned Route 66. Blessed with breathtaking scenery, the Langeberg region boasts some of the country’s finest wines and is known for having the longest wine route in the world.
Montagu is one of the best examples of a late Victorian agricultural village in the Western Cape with a number of examples of preserved Cape Dutch and Georgian National Monuments – Long Street houses 14 of the town’s 22 National Monuments and Joubert House epitomises late 19th-century living. Spending time in Montagu is sure to relax and recharge your batteries or, if you are that way inclined, there is a list of activities to get the adrenalin flowing, like mountain biking, kloofing, abseiling, paragliding, fishing and river boat trips up the Breede River.

A wonderful spot for families, especially those with young children. The grounds are Beautifully designed and looked after. A lot of thought has gone into their creation. The animal feeding in the morning was a highlight for the kids. We all loved the swimming pool, and great cocktails for the parents too!

There is not much that we didn’t like.
We enjoyed the views of the place. The hot tub was such a great late in the day when you want to relax in the tub watching the sun set.

I love Glen Eden. 3rd time there, 2nd time staying in Sunbird Cottage. It’s peaceful, relaxing, quiet (even when other accommodations are booked), views are lovely. Sounds of the fish eagle and blue cranes as they fly over, guinea fowl in the morning and the owl at night make for a great getaway out of the city. Cottage is super spacious, comfortable, has everything you need!
